Carpet Cleaning Steps

Step 1: Pre-Inspection

The Lotus Cleaning Representative will walk through your home with you to visually inspect the carpet, tile or upholstery. They will identify potential permanent stains and give you an evaluation of expected results with no surprises.

Step 2: Pre-Vacuum

Dry soil is removed promptly by a HEPA (high-efficiency particulate absorbing) Filter Vacuum. Removing dry soil is one of the most important steps in steam cleaning, especially if you have pets with lots of hair and dander that can go airborne while steam cleaning.

Step 3: Furniture Moving (optional)

Upon customer’s request sofas, chairs, tables and smaller items will be carefully moved by our cleaning technician with furniture glides, rubber hand gloves to assure furniture protection. Beds, dressers, sectional sofa, and heavier pieces kept in place under our regular pricing structure. A Lotus Cleaning Technician can quote the exact cost of more substantial pieces. Your furniture will be moved with furniture glides and well protected with disposable foam or plastic tabs as needed at the job site.

Step 4: Pre-Condition & Pre-Spray Treatment

A heavy-duty pre-spray is applied to break down traffic areas and pre-treat various types of spots throughout your home or business. This will increase chances of soiled traffic areas and spots to be extracted for a more efficient and thorough steam cleaning.

Step 5: Pre-Groom & Agitation

Each steam cleaning job is different depending on soil level of your carpet. Our carpet technician will pre-groom your carpets with a carpet groomer or mechanical tool to break down light carpet soiling.

Step 6: Soil Extraction and Rinse

The carpet is then thoroughly rinsed with our state of the art truck mounted hot water extraction machine that prevents saturating the carpet or leaving any sticky residue behind. The carpet tech has total control of water temperatures ranging from 0-240 degrees depending on fabric and cleaning needs. We use environmentally safe products that are 99% Green, soap free, naturally scented and non-toxic without VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds).

Step 7: Post Spot Treatment

Any spots or stains remaining will get additional treatment with our many specialty spotting solutions. For longer carpet life and fewer permanent stains, be sure to have professional carpet protector applied to your carpet.

Step 8: Carpet Protector (optional)

Your carpet is protected with a protector as it stays cleaner longer, reducing fiber abrasion and prolongs the life and beauty of the carpet. It is a recommended add-on.

Step 9: Post Groom

We will groom your carpet with a professional groomer so that the pile of the carpet is standing tall when we leave. Post grooming helps the carpet pile dry faster and in the right position.

Step 10: Speed Dry

High-velocity air movers are placed on the carpet immediately after steam cleaning to accelerate drying.

Step 11: Post Quality Cleaning Inspection

Our Lotus Cleaning Representative will walk through your home with you to point out the cleaning results to make sure that you are delighted with our services.
